OVERVIEW

Mount Longido´s peak has an elevation of 2,637 m / 8,652 ft above sea level. It is located at the border to Kenya about 1,5 hours drive from the city of Arusha in the Mount Longido forest reserve. The area is home of the Massai people.

The principal path to the summit starts in the small town of Longido and leads you through the lush nature with its rich wildlife up to a rocky peak. On your way you will see beautiful exotic plants, flowers and animals like buffalo and birds. Mount Longido has 3 vegetation zones: dry zone, rain forest zone and moorland zone. Its peak has stunning and spectacular views over the Maasai land of Tanzania and Kenya.

There is no technical difficulty, therefore it Mount Longido considered an easy mountain. The climb can be done in one day, it takes 5-6 hours to reach the top and 3-5 hours to descent. But it is also common for climbers to spend one night in a tented camp on the mountain, enjoy the romantic sunset and sunrise, and then reach the summit on the second day. Sometimes visitors climb Mount Longido as part of the preparations for the ascent of nearby Mount Kilimanjaro.

FULL ITINERARY

Day 1 : MOSHI TO LONGIDO

Gate which will take (2 hours and 51 minutes),After you arrived you will have a little bit resting and do some hiking Preparation such as double checking your hiking gears and be introduced to your hiking Crew then after you will begin your hiking after you arrived at the top of Mount Longido you will have a dinner then you will overnight staying at the Camping tents and wait for the next day  Dinner and Camping gears are included in the price .

Day 2 : DESCENDING BACK FROM MOUNT LONGIDO AND DRIVE BACK TO MOSHI

You will wake up and having the breakfast around 7:30 AM then after you will double check your Staff and after that you will begin your descending down to the starting point which will take almost 3-4 hours in total then after you arrived at the starting point you will be awarded your hiking Certificate and having a group picture with your hiking Crew then after you will enter to the Car and start driving back to your hotel or any of your Accomodation in Moshi
