The Safari trip will Cover two destinations in Safari in Selous which is now called (NYERERE NATIONAL PARK) . And MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK By starting with Nyerere National Park is that Nyerere National Park is probably the only classic Safari to Southern Circuit of Tanzania and we offer you the best of it. Starting and ending at Dar es Salaam this safari takes you to the Greater Selous Ecosystem and give you the rare chance to experience real African Wilderness in the few untouched areas of Tanzania.

TOUR DAY TO DAY

Day 1 : Game drive + boat tour

Start 5.00 am from hotel, Dar Es Salaam and drive to Selous Game Reserve. After reaching Selous GR at 10:30am, you will start directly with Boat safari for 2:30 hours at river rufiji. It’s an ideal trip if you would like to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Rufiji River with many hippos, crocodiles, and beautiful birdlife.

The Rufiji is a large wide river with several lakes branching off it for you to explore, gaining a unique view of the river’s largest inhabitants: crocodiles and hippos. Make all formalities and you will start a game drive at 2:00pm, During afternoon after boat safari at 1:00pm you will have a short break for lunch at African safari camp. Continue with game drive up to evening at 6:30pm then back to African safari camp for accommodation.

Accommodation : Nyerere Tented Camp or Selous Jimbiza Tented Camp

Day 2 : Sunrise game, game drive then back to Mikumi

Start early in the morning with sunrise game at 6:30am for game drive in Nyerere National Park, you will have half day game up to 1:00pm then you will have a hot lunch in the hotel then you will relax and being ready to leave Nyerere National Park on the second day of your Safari day, where by you will be ready start a safari to Mikumi National Park on the third day . The safari guide points out rare species of animals like the Wild Dogs, Sable antelopes, black rhinoceros, Nile Crocodile, hippopotamus along the banks of the Rufiji river, Cape buffalo, hartebeest and Eland and AFTER THIS ACTIVITIES YOU WILL SLEEP AT OUR outside Accomodation at Nyerere National Park

Day 3 : Transfer to Mikumi National Park

You will have the early Breakfast at your Accomodation then after around 8:30 AM up to 9:00 AM you will start your journey to Mikumi National Park where by Picnic lunch and drinks will be served on the way to Mikumi National Park

ABOUT MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK

Mikumi National Park is covering an area of 3230 Km sq, Also Mikumi National Park is basically like an extension of the larger Selous Ecosystem and the park’s plains have often been related to the endless plains of the Serengeti so you expect vast savannah plains in which many animals thrive as well as the Miombo Woodlands and great scenic views over the rolling hills of the Uluguru Mountains; one of the Mountain ranges that make up the ancient and legendary ‘Eastern Arc Mountains’ of East Africa that spreads from this area to Eastern Tanzania including Pare and Usambara Mountains and as far as the Taita Hills in South Eastern Kenya

What to See on your 2 days Mikumi safari after visiting Nyerere National Park?

As soon as you enter the stretch of the tarmac road that cuts through the Mikumi National Park along the Dar es Salaam – Mbeya Highway you will start seeing many animals like the cheeky Baboons and Monkeys but can also easily spot easily other animals like zebras, gazelles, impalas and giraffes from the roadside which gives you even a ‘free game drive’ even before you enter the actual Mikumi Park Gate. Don’t be surprised to escort a pride of lions along the tarmac highway because here the animals have the right of way.

Lions Crossing Highway at Mikumi National Park Other animals that can be spotted in Mikumi include Buffaloes, Greater Kudus, hartebeests, elephants, elands, sable antelopes, wildebeests, and the rare ones like cheetahs and occasional leopards among many other species.

Mikumi National Park is also home to a lot of birds with more than 400 bird species recorded and the park also allows for Walking safaris which makes it perfect for a bird walk accompanied by an armed TANAPA Ranger in the mornings or afternoons. Some of the birds that can be spotted here include; the African hawk eagle, African open bill, long-tailed fiscal, mariqua sunbirds, the pale basis, red-billed oxpeckers, southern ground hornbill, purple crested turacos, northern carmine bee eaters, starlings several weaver bird species and many more.

You are expected to be at Mikumi National Park around 12:00 Noon up to 1:00 PM. This will be the continues of your Safari trip where by you will continue with your Game Drive at Mikumi National Park after you arrive then after you will drive to your Accomodation

Day 4 : Early Game drive and drive back to Dar es Salaam

After Breakfast you will continue with your Game Drive until the late afternoon where by you will pack up your Staff and having Hot Local Lunch before you go on with your Safari trip to go back to Dar es Salaam where by it will be the ending of your Safari trip
